ABOUT ME
Noah Deats is a Director of Photography, born and raised in Los Angeles. A fourth generation filmmaker, Noah was raised in a family of academy award-winning key grips, and his line-producer mother. (Noah, at age one, was the youngest person on set of The Thong Song mv).
Growing up on set allowed Noah to interact with all the different departments on a set. With an innate understanding and appreciation of light, at 16 yrs old Noah began working his way up through the camera department, learning the craft working under various esteemed cinematographers; studying lighting, composition, and the collaborative process.
Noah is constantly developing his unique style and craft, blending traditional camera and lighting techniques with a modern approach. Noah loves how a DP interwines the artistry and magic of cinematography with the technical and logistical challenges of shooting on a set -- just like a chef, a perfect balance of artist and technician.
Noah is a graduate of ArtCenter College of Design (BFA ‘19). He prides himself on having a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and his ability to run a positive, creative, and efficient set.
He currently works as a DP on various forms of content including: narrative features and shorts, commercial / branded content, fashion films, and music videos. He has worked with many brands and artists including: Sofia Coppola, Melodie McDaniel, Maya Hawke, Sheryl Crow, Gia Coppola, Amy Allen, Selena Gomez, A$AP NA$T, Hulu, Tom Brady, Nike, Lacoste, and many others.
Noah is also a proud member of the writing-directing duo Tess and Noah, and is currently in development on their debut feature film. Noah still camera operates for himself and DP’s that he likes, he is also a sneaky good focus puller. He is a great traveller and speaks three languages: English, Spanish, and (kinda) French!
